Unit 5 - Do you know where it is?
Objective : Students will be able to write a letter to tell their friends
about their communities.
Time : 2-3 periods
Procedure:
Step 1 - Create an experience
Teacher introduces two pictures (about the communities). Then, Let students try to describe what they see in these pictures. Teacher will add something for helping them express their thinking and write down all words they say on the blackboard.
Step 2 - Analyze/reflect about experience
Let students discuss by finding the difference. They may compare the first community with the other that two communities look nice for living or not.
Step 3 - Integrate reflective analysis into concept
Let students think about the groups of these words by finding the relation of quality-of-life indicators from discussing. Teacher will give them some clues (such as using graphic organization).
Step 4 - Develop concepts and skills
Teacher teaches the vocabularies in the groups of quality-of-life indicators and reviews the background knowledge about Comparison forms of Adjectives by using these words for comparing the two communities
Step 5 - Practice defined “given”
Divide students in group of five or six. Each group will get some information by drawing lots. After that, let students create their communities from the information they got. They will get some paper and color pencils for drawing their communities. Then, let students present their own communities in role play (5-10 minutes).
Step 6 - Practice and add something of oneself
Let students say 1, 2, 3,..., 6 in their own group. After that, students who say the same number will work together. Then, let them discuss and compare about their communities before presentation.
Step 7 - Analyze application for relevance
Let students share their ideas about their presentation
Step 8 - Do it and apply to more complex experience
Teacher opens the topic “What will happen, if something happens in my community.” and discuss in the class. Then, let students think and write a letter about this topic to tell their friends.

When I know that I have to create the activity which has to cover most of intelligences so I think that the intelligences looks like one approach which it calls .....4MAT...... because it uses for the different learners or intelligences they have. And according to my project in the course, Innovation, I try to create the whole activity for one class and would like to read some of your ideas because if I only do by myself, I won't know that this activity is good or not. Your ideas are important to me so please feel free to comment it. I will wait for them. Thank you.
